The article for today features valuable information about all you should bear in mind when it comes to .Wcry Virus File – a Ransomware virus, which is awfully hazardous and may become the reason for the encryption of some of the files on your computer.

What exactly could we expect from a Ransomware-based product? Types of viruses:

Ransomware-like viruses are among the most hazardous and malicious programs ever designed to date. This kind of malware also represents one of the most fast developing and expanding virus categories in the world. In fact, as a whole, this malware can be divided into the subcategories we have listed here, which may result in various issues:

  • Mobile device infecting Ransomware and Desktop-locking Ransomware: the viruses from these subcategories can affect smartphones, laptops, desktop computers, tablets, phablets and other devices by locking their screens up. As soon as they have rendered your monitor (screen) totally unavailable to you, they will post their ransom demand in exchange for making it usable to you again.
  • Authority-exploited Ransomware: several government agencies may use Ransomware-like code to cope with cyber criminals, for example, with the ones who violate copyright laws. Such a program will encrypt the criminal’s computer and a fine will be requested for decrypting it.
  • The most popular subtype – the data-encrypting Ransomware category: this is the most widely spread Ransomware kind. The viruses from this group can invade your PC, after that gather info about the data you access more; and then – lock all such files up, usually with a double-component complex key. The last step such a virus takes is to send you a special pop-up notification to inform you that you are supposed to pay a certain amount within a given time frame.

    .Wcry Ransomware File

Which of the aforementioned Ransomware groups does .Wcry Ransomware fall into?

.Wcry Ransomware is a typical data-locking Ransomware version. This subcategory’s members may invade your computer with the polite help and support of another malware version – a Trojan horse virus. All in all, the Trojan is the virus, which could guarantee the safe passage of the Ransomware into your system through one of its vulnerabilities. As soon as these two viruses have eventually arrived inside your PC, they may continue with the implementation of their pre-programmed tasks.

What might be used successfully in the fight against a virus like .Wcry Virus File?

Unfortunately, it’s true that such malware is usually extremely hard to counteract. The infected users might need specialized guidance from a professional in this field, or the assistance of powerful anti-malware software to successfully remove .Wcry Ransomware and reverse its effects. What’s even more awful is the fact that even paying off the demanded ransom might not be what it takes to set your encrypted files and your infected system free. That’s the reason why, when talking about Ransomware, we usually recommend that the victim users make an effort to deal with this appalling contamination with the help of all other possible means – software or an expert’s piece of advice; or even try some Removal Guides, like the one we have designed for you. For instance, you may want to try to recover your access to your files and fight the infection via following the instructions, which can be found inside our Removal Guide down in this article. We cannot make any promises, but these tips may still be helpful in the process of trying to decrypt your files and get rid of .Wcry Virus.

The only thing, which always works: prevention!

The only means of successfully dealing with Ransomware is preventing any infections with it in the first place. Prevention has to become the most essential component of your daily routine. Generally, there are some helpful tips we will share with you. Firstly, stay away from the potential sources of Ransomware – do not authorize any macros in any text document that you may have come across on the Internet. Avoid as much as you can any emails from unknown senders – don’t foolishly load them or download any of their attachments. Moreover, run virus scans on your PC on a regular basis to make sure backdoor malware has made its way in your system.

However, the ultimate piece of advice when it comes to fighting Ransomware viruses is the following: Always try to back up your most valuable files!  Keep copies of everything essential all the time – as often as you can, and of as many files as you possibly can, as such viruses typically target your data, and if you have copied and kept the copies, no one will ever blackmail you.
