You might not be aware what it is like, where it comes from or how it affects your PC. The only thing you know is that some of the files on your system have been encoded and now you have to take them back. The option the hackers are offering you is to pay ransom to them. Nevertheless, you may feel that this is not the only possible solution to your problem.
If this is indeed the case with your computer, the removal instructions we have prepared for you are available at the end of this page. Hopefully, they will be really useful when it comes to uninstalling that malware from your machine.
All you should know about Ransomware
Let me begin with some statistics – Ransomware-like programs are really malicious. This type of malware originated in Russia at the end of the last century, however, very quickly became known to the rest of the world. At the present moment Ransomware represents maybe the most highly dangerous virus that has ever been developed.
How does it function?
Typically, Ransomware-based programs are designed to find, enlist and lock up the most often used data on your PC. After completing that evil task, they tend to do an even more disturbing thing. The program generates a notification on the affected computer’s screen saying that if you want your files under your control, you are supposed to pay a varying ransom. The amount of money hackers require from you might range from less than $10 and more than $800.
In what way does it usually enter your PC?
Of course, this happens without your knowledge or/and approval. The methods of distribution may be very diverse, ranging from a software bundle to, most commonly, an infected spam email and its attachments.
What we should mention here is that Ransomware never comes alone. On the contrary, it usually exploits a Trojan horse to detect any flaws in your OS or the additionally installed programs on your computer in order to get inside in an easier way.
That’s why it is vital to find the Trojan and get rid of it as well.
What is the influence Xipr Virus Trojan has on your PC?
As you may have already noticed, you are most likely to realize your system has been contaminated only after the ransom alert has been displayed.
However, it is completely possible to notice the infection while it is still in progress. Xipr Virus Trojan usually starts scanning your system’s memory right after it has entered your computer. After that it makes a list of all the data you most regularly use and begins encrypting it. Such a process, though, often increases the consumption of your machine’s resources. This is why there might be a considerable slowdown in the entire performance of your PC, while the encryption takes place. If you are lucky enough to notice that something strange is going on, take a look at your Task Manager. There, usually at the top of the list, you will find the harmful app using up most of your CPU and RAM.
Our advice in such a case is to turn off your computer and don’t start it again, before you have consulted an expert or a removal guide to assist you in dealing with the issue. In this way you will avoid causing any further damage to your system.
Is paying the demanded ransom a wise idea? Will that give you back your data?
Considering the option of paying the requested sum is totally your decision to make. Nonetheless, if you want some advice on whether it is wise to do so or not, here it comes. It has NEVER been a wise or a good idea to surrender to any kind of blackmailing. If you pay, there is no guarantee that the hackers will restore the files they have hijacked. Probably they will only get more inspired to continue making money out of other innocent users’ misery. Of course, if you don’t pay, there is still no concrete promise that you will manage to remove the infection and save your files.
In case you make a decision to proceed with an effort to remove Xipr Virus Trojan, our guide is here to help you. Carefully read and implement the removal instructions to get rid of the virus.
