Tips Virus Removal can be surprisingly annoying and you have probably realized that the moment this application got installed on your smartphone or tablet device. There is no way that you could not have noticed the strange new search engine or homepage, that has been imposed to your Chrome, Safari or Firefox browsing app and the unstoppable flow of ads, pop-ups, banners and sudden page redirects. All this is activity, typically initiated by a browser hijacking piece of software and is just one of the many of this type. On this page, we are going to tell you what risks such programs are related to and how to fully uninstall them from your Android system and remove all the nagging ads that they display, so that they no longer bother you.

What can do?

You may hear that browser hijackers like this one are often referred to as potentially unwanted or even “viruses”. The reason is that these pieces can be extremely notorious in their attempts to display various ads and prompt you to click on certain sites or pop-ups. Sometimes, programs like may indirectly expose the users to some potentially risky web content by redirecting their searches to unknown web locations, nagging ads, links, pop-ups, and sketchy sites. Every user, who is a bit concerned about the safety of his portable device knows, that being prompted to interact with unknown sites and pop-ups may hide security hazards like viruses, Trojans or nasty Ransomware infections. Therefore, it is not surprising that many people tend to question the safety of software like when they face it.

For good or bad, however, browser hijackers are not considered to be actual threats. The whole idea behind their invasive behavior is the generation of profits from sponsored ads positioning or Pay-Per-Click campaigns. These pieces are not capable of causing some actual damage to your Android device and are not related to any destructive or criminal deeds. Still, they often use some aggressive advertising approaches, which may cause irritation and constant browsing disturbance and the only truly effective way to stop them is to uninstall the entire software from your device.

How to remove from your smartphone or tablet?

Unlike some nasty virus threats, programs like can easily be removed from any Android system with the help of some simple removal instructions just like the ones below. Unfortunately, the installation of such software cannot be prevented because the browser hijackers often become part of your system when you install some other application. They are usually bundled inside the installer of the desired app and if you are not selective about the apps that you install, and don’t research them well, they may come along with some potentially unwanted software that you may not desire. Whether you use the default “Internet” App for browsing or a different browser like Chrome you need to go to:
Settings/More/Application Manager/All

Locate the Browser/App in question and tap on it.

Now the method is effectively the same for users using both “Internet” and Chrome/Other Browsers, yet for more clarity we have provided instructions for both:

For “Internet” Browser Users:

Tap the Force Stop button.

Now tap the Clear Data and Clear Cache Buttons.

For Google Chrome Users:

Click on  Force Stop.

Then click on Clear Data and Clear Cache.

Restart your Browser. It might be a good idea to Reboot your Android device, just in case.

  • Important!

If you are still seeing Ads in your browser, it is likely they are generated by the websites you visit and there is nothing you can do about it.

However, if you are seeing Adverts outside of your internet browser, then one of your installed Apps contains the problematic Adware. In this case you need to take a look at this guide.
