However, the website lacks transparency regarding its owners, location, registration, and regulation. It also fails to provide any contact information, such as an email or phone number. Communication with the platform is limited to an on-site chat box, which is likely operated by automated systems or scammers.

Cropxbit com is a malicious piece of code that seeks to sneak inside the system without being detected. Cropxbit com is known as a Trojan horse and is kept accountable for online crimes such as data theft, money fraud and extortion, personal abuse, and more.
Cropxbit has been recently added to the well-known Trojan horse malware category. Therefore, since this is a very new threat, there is a high chance that even advanced and trusted antivirus programs may not detect it when the computer is attacked. The main explanation why some protection programs may let such new threats to sneak through lies in the way malware is generally identified.
The Cropxbit Elon Musk Scam
The primary allure of Cropxbit revolves around an alleged giveaway supposedly sponsored by Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and founder of Tesla and SpaceX. According to their website, individuals who create an account using a referral code promoted on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok will purportedly receive $12,000 in their Cropxbit wallet. Nevertheless, this money is fictitious and cannot be withdrawn until the user deposits $100 of their own funds. Once a user clicks on the link and creates an account using the referral code, they will notice $12,000 in their Cropxbit wallet. However, this is merely a ploy to convince them that they have received a genuine gift from Elon Musk. In reality, this money lacks backing from any cryptocurrency or fiat currency and cannot be transferred or exchanged for anything of value. Additionally, users are prompted to link their actual wallets to their Cropxbit accounts, an extremely risky move that exposes their private keys and personal information to scammers.
A typical antivirus software will utilize the virus definitions of its database to detect new security risks, such as Trojans, Spyware, Ransomware, etc. Normally the antivirus developers update the database every time a new virus type is developed. Such updates, however, don’t happen immediately, as it takes some time for the security researchers to thoroughly study a new virus and include it in the virus databases. Until then, the security software would probably not stop the newly published threat. In other words, the attacks of recent Trojans such as Cropxbit com may remain invisible until the antivirus gets its updates. Many people may not even know that they have been compromised. Besides, some Trojans may have the ability to deliberately block the antivirus on the computer to prevent their detection and stop the victim from using new or updated security software that can remove it.
The scam orchestrated by Cropxbit.com preys upon the avarice and curiosity of individuals interested in cryptocurrencies, enticing them with an apparently effortless opportunity to make money. Scammers employ fabricated accounts and bots to disseminate the referral code and website link across various social media platforms, particularly those frequented by inexperienced and young users like TikTok. They also fabricate testimonials and reviews to create a false sense of legitimacy and trustworthiness.
Subsequently, users are prompted to deposit $100 to activate their account and withdraw the purported $12,000. However, this is where the scam becomes apparent. Once the user deposits their funds, they are denied access to both their initial deposit and the $12,000. Scammers may block or delete the user’s account, or simply ignore their withdrawal and support requests. Ultimately, users lose their money and potentially compromise the security of their wallets.

Remove Cropxbit
To try and remove Cropxbit quickly you can try this:
- Go to your browser’s settings and select More Tools (or Add-ons, depending on your browser).
- Then click on the Extensions tab.
- Look for the Cropxbit extension (as well as any other unfamiliar ones).
- Remove Cropxbit by clicking on the Trash Bin icon next to its name.

Uninstall the Cropxbit app and kill its processes
The first thing you must try to do is look for any sketchy installs on your computer and uninstall anything you think may come from Cropxbit. After that, you’ll also need to get rid of any processes that may be related to the unwanted app by searching for them in the Task Manager.
Note that sometimes an app, especially a rogue one, may ask you to install something else or keep some of its data (such as settings files) on your PC – never agree to that when trying to delete a potentially rogue software. You need to make sure that everything is removed from your PC to get rid of the malware. Also, if you aren’t allowed to go through with the uninstallation, proceed with the guide, and try again after you’ve completed everything else.

Type Apps & Features in the Start Menu, open the first result, sort the list of apps by date, and look for suspicious recently installed entries.
Click on anything you think could be linked to Cropxbit, then select uninstall, and follow the prompts to delete the app.
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, click More Details (if it’s not already clicked), and look for suspicious entries that may be linked to Cropxbit.
If you come across a questionable process, right-click it, click Open File Location, scan the files with the free online malware scanner shown below, and then delete anything that gets flagged as a threat.
After that, if the rogue process is still visible in the Task Manager, right-click it again and select End Process.
Undo Cropxbit changes made to different system settings
It’s possible that Cropxbit has affected various parts of your system, making changes to their settings. This can enable the malware to stay on the computer or automatically reinstall itself after you’ve seemingly deleted it. Therefore, you need to check the following elements by going to the Start Menu, searching for specific system elements that may have been affected, and pressing Enter to open them and see if anything has been changed there without your approval. Then you must undo any unwanted changes made to these settings in the way shown below:
