Nuothmen
Nuothmen is a specific type of software known on the internet as a browser hijacker. Nuothmen gets its name because of its ability to alter the settings of any given browser.
Once installed on your Mac computer, this hijacker will integrate with your Chrome, Firefox, Safari or other popular browser and will introduce certain changes. Namely, after the browser hijacker has first been installed, you may open your favorite browser and discover that there’s a new homepage there to greet you. The same may apply for the new-tab page as well. Furthermore, the default search engine may have also been replaced by a different one. This is done for the purpose of promoting these websites and to drive more traffic to them. The tricky part, however, is that you will not be able to change those settings back to the preferred ones as long as Nuothmen or Nsurlsessiond is on your Mac. If you haven’t done it already, we don’t recommend you waste your time trying. Instead, head over to the removal guide we have put together for you below and use it to remove the culprit from your system, along with all its unwanted changes.
Nuothmen for Mac
Nuothmen for Mac can spam your browser with online ads in various shapes and sizes. This is the primary function of programs like Nuothmen for Mac and normally also their most annoying aspect to users.
Browser hijackers like this one are often marketed as a tool to enhance your web browsing. But it doesn’t take long before you realize that all they really do is infringe on your browsing experience and make it a chore for you to have to navigate past all the annoying ads they bombard you with. You can see anything from popups and banners plastered across the screen to colorful links littering your favorite blog or news website. In addition, software of this type also has the very irritating tendency to spontaneously redirect the page to some sponsored web location you never had any interest in seeing in the first place.
What is Nuothmen?
Nuothmen is often confused with malware and viruses. However, Nuothmen is not a virus and is merely used as an advertising tool. Programs of this type often operate on the basis of Pay Per Click and Pay Per View systems, which is how their developers earn money. It’s a very simple formula: the more users click on and/or see a certain page, ad, etc., the more revenue is generated for the developers.
The Nuothmen app
The Nuothmen app could have been added to the installer of some program you downloaded off the internet. And if you ran the automatic setup, then the Nuothmen app was installed automatically alongside the main program.
There’s an easy way to avoid this and that is to always exercise the advanced or custom settings of any installation manager from now on. Pay close attention to the steps that follow and you should reach one that tells you about any added components that you will also be given the choice to opt out of.
