How to Remove Denaliview

This post provides useful information about a browser-hijacker site called Denaliview. This scam site stealthily enters browsers (mostly Chromium-based ones) and gains various permissions without user consent. It will often be helped by a rogue browser extension like SwiftSeek or ZoomFind, which may block your attempts to remove the site from your browser’s settings.

After thoroughly researching this hijacker and exploring the various complaints users had about it, I can confidently say that I can help you remove the rogue site from your browser and delete any unwanted browser extensions associated with it.

If you are getting notifications from Denaliview.top, or this site seems to have taken over your browser, I strongly advise you to complete the next steps to get rid of this hijacker.

Denaliview Removal

Depending on the situation, you might get lucky and remove Denaliview the easy way, so that is what I suggest you try first:

  1. Launch the web browser you are trying to clean and access its settings through the browser menu.
  2. First, go to Extensions. There, you must Remove anything that wasn’t added by you.
  3. Then open Privacy and Security > Site Settings, or if you are using Edge, go to Cookies and Site Permissions.
  4. Check the Notifications and Pop-ups and Redirects permission categories. This is where you’ll almost certainly find Denaliview.top. If you see the rogue URL anywhere, either Remove it or add it to the Block section.

Restart your PC after you complete these short steps. Then open the browser and assess the situation. Any signs of Denaliview still being there? If the browser seems okay now, you can skip the rest of this guide.

On the other hand, if the hijacker is still present, there’s no need to worry. The advanced steps below will help you get rid of it.

If you recently installed something that you suspect could be linked to the appearance of Denaliview in your browser, you need to delete that software too. This is because, even after you remove the hijacker with the help of this guide, the app you installed might restore it.

I don’t know what you may have installed so I can’t directly help you remove it. However, if you are having difficulties with the uninstallation, I strongly recommend trying SpyHunter 5. This powerful removal app, that’s linked on this page, will clean your system from anything rogue in no time.

How to Get Rid of the Denaliview.top Virus

The most likely reason you weren’t able to remove Denaliview with the quick steps is that there’s a rogue extension in the browser that has introduced its own policy.

One significant indicator of such interference is the appearance of a “Managed by your organization” message within your browser settings. This message signifies that the Denaliview extension has established control over your browser and is now restricting your ability to make necessary changes.

This is what you must tackle first:

Begin by visiting the policies page of your browser. Here are the URLs for a couple of popular Chromium browsers that can be affected by such policies:

  • Chrome://policy for Google Chrome
  • Edge://policy for MS Edge
  • Brave://policy for Brave

Once you get there, you will find policies that have been altered or added by the hijacker, often characterized by strings of random characters as their values. You must save these values in a text file.

chrome policies

You must also collect the IDs of any rogue Extensions, so go to the Extensions Manager.

If you get redirected when you try to go to the Extensions Manager, do this:

Go to the Extensions folder for the respective browser. For Chrome, that folder is located in:

C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions.

The extension directories for other browsers are:

browser extensions folders

Delete everything in the extensions directory of your browser. This is because you have no way of knowing which of the folders there is linked to the rogue extension(s), so it’s safest to just get rid of all of them.

chrome extensions folders

Now you should have access to the Extensions Manager, so go there, click the Developer Mode button, and look at the IDs of the various extensions you have (some browsers don’t show them directly in the Extensions Manager, so you must click the individual extensions to see them.

Find the ID of the rogue Denaliview extension and save it with the policy values from earlier. Save the IDs of any other sketchy extensions.

Delete Denaliview Malware Policies

By now, you should have a file with a couple of policy values and extension IDs. You must use those to clean your system Registry like so:

Launch the Registry Editor from the Start Menu (you must open it with admin rights).

Press Ctrl + F and search for the first policy value you documented earlier.

Upon locating the relevant registry key in the left panel, delete it and repeat the search. Ensure that all keys associated with this search are deleted.

Then move on to the next value/ID until you’ve deleted everything linked to Denaliview.

Important!

Some keys can’t be deleted because of restricted access. If you come across such keys, do this:

Right-click the key > Permissions > Advanced > Change. Type “everyone“, click Check Names, then click OK.

regedit permissions 2

Put ticks in the two Replace options, then click Apply > OK.

Other Ways to Remove Denaliview Virus Policies

I can offer you two alternative ways to delete rogue policies from your browser:

The first one uses the Group Policy Editor.

You can find it by searching for “Edit Group Policy” in the Start Menu.

In it, go to Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration.

local group policy administrative templates

Then right-click Administrative Templates > Add/Remove Templates, and delete everything shown in the following list.

delete local group policies

The second option is only for Google Chrome users. You can delete all policies from Chrome with a free tool called Chrome Policy Remover.

Download it from the link I’ve provided and run it as an Admin. Windows Security will likely warn you, but that’s okay, the tool is safe.

Click More Info > Run Anyway to ignore the warning and the tool will automatically clear all rogue policies.

Uninstall Denaliview.top From Your Browser

With the rogue policies addressed, the final phase involves thoroughly cleaning your browsers to ensure no remnants of Denaliview remain.

First, revisit the Extensions page within your browser’s settings.

Delete extensions that appear suspicious or are directly linked to Denaliview.

  • Earlier, when you deleted the extension folders, you damaged all extensions, including the useful ones. To restore them, try to use each one and when the browser detects the extension is broken, it will give you a Repair button. Click it and the extension will be restored.

Next, you must go to Privacy and Security again and click Delete browsing data to clear your browser’s cache, cookies, and other temporary data.

delete browser data chrome

Select the Advanced tab and leave only Passwords and other sign-in data unchecked.

Choose the All Time option to ensure no rogue data is left in the browser and then click Delete.

Don’t forget to check the Site Settings again. This time visit all site permission types and delete/block Denaliview and/or any other unfamiliar URLs you see there.

chrome site permissions

It is also imperative to reset your search engine to a trusted provider. Go to the Search Engine tab, restore your preferred search engine (if it’s currently a different one), then open Manage Search Engines, and delete any unfamiliar URLs you find there.

chrome search engine

Do the same thing in the On Startup and Appearance sections. Check them for Denaliview.top or other rogue addresses and delete what you find.
