YT5s.com

YT5s.com is one of the latest browser hijackers to be released. YT5s.com acts as a rogue browser extension for popular web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge and others.

The YT5s.com virus

It can be an annoying experience to have a page-redirecting hijacker installed in your browser. You don’t know where it came from, you don’t know how to remove it, and you don’t know how to bring back your browser’s previous homepage, or search engine that have been replaced by the browser hijacker. Of course, there are some users who don’t seem to mind the presence of a hijacker in their browser, but there are also those who fear that it may actually be something more serious – Ransomware, a Trojan horse virus or some other harmful malware piece.

The truth is that, while hijackers aren’t really all that problematic, it’s better to remove them. Therefore, if your Chrome, Safari or Firefox (or another) browser seems to have a hijacker in it because YT5s.com has just become your default homepage, and your search engine isn’t the one that you prefer to use, then stay on this page and read on.

The reason we are focusing on this particular browser hijacker is because this is something many users have been complaining about it lately. They open their browser one day and they see that their homepage has been replaced without their permission, and the address is now a page called YT5s.com. This change is usually not the only one. As we mentioned, the search engine is usually replaced as well, and it is possible that random ads or page redirects start to appear on the screen during browsing sessions.

All of this is sure to irritate most people and make them wish they could remove the annoying browser component. But even those who don’t mind the presence of a hijacker in their system should know that the unwelcome app needs to be uninstalled.

Though it really isn’t a virus, a Trojan, a representative of the Ransomware family, or some other threatening and illegal program, a hijacker such as this one is definitely not the most secure piece of software you can have in your computer. It’s never a good idea to have software in your machine that does things without your permission and that doesn’t give you an option to stop its activities, and hijackers like YT5s.com, Scan-virus.com, Wave browser are usually like that. They don’t let you restore your previous browser settings and they keep bombarding you with commercial content regardless of whether you want it or not.

Aside from being highly irritating, this may lead to the exposure of your browser and, by extension, of your whole system to all sorts of online threats. You surely don’t want to risk getting your computer attacked by some nasty piece of malware just because some pesky hijacker has redirected you to an unsafe site.

The good news is that we can help you with the full elimination of the YT5s.com page and the hijacker behind it – we have prepared a detailed removal guide with manual steps that you can find on this page, and if that isn’t enough to remove the hijacker (or if you prefer a more automated option), you can also try the professional removal tool linked down below.
