Beltrapurint

Beltrapurint is an unwanted Windows app capable of hijacking the homepage and the search engine of Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers. Beltrapurint is used by its creators as an advertising tool that promotes different sites and earns money based on the Pay-Per-View model.

Beltrapurint

If you have this undesirable software app inside your system, you should be well aware of its abilities, goals, and the potential risks that it may bring about on your computer. Although this app is not intended to deal damage to your PC or to mess with any of your files and personal data, it is not advisable to regard Beltrapurint as a safe app and to allow it to stay in the system.

After this undesirable software piece takes over your browser’s starting page and search engine, it will automatically start to spam your screen with page-redirect links, pop-up advertisements, and clickbait banners. This is done with the aim to popularize certain websites. The owners of the promoted sites pay the creators of the Beltrapurint browser hijacker commissions each time a user gets redirected to their websites. This advertising model is what dictates the highly invasive nature and behavior of the hijacker app. The people who’ve created it are more than interested in putting as many ads and page redirects as possible on your screen as this would increase the profit earned from the activity of Beltrapurint.

The Beltrapurint Virus

The good news if you are dealing with the Beltrapurint malware or McAfee virus is that this app is not going to attempt to do anything harmful to your computer. The goal of hijackers like it is almost always advertising-related which means that causing any type of damage to the computer is not on their agendas.

However, there could still be potential risks and dangers brought about by such apps if they are allowed to operate on your computer for long. One major problem is that the content that these apps tend to promote is oftentimes not particularly reliable. Many sites and products promoted by such apps might be misleading or outright fake. You could end up on phishing sites, sites that distribute pirated or low-quality software, or ones that are used for spreading Spyware, Ransomware, and Trojans. All in all, if a given site is advertised by a browser hijacker like Beltrapurint, it’s best to keep your distance from that site. Even if the hijacker has seemingly redirected you to a website you know, it is possible that it is actually a phishing page that is disguised as the real site, so keep that in mind.

What to do if Beltrapurint is in the system?

The obvious solution here is to remove the browser hijacker. Uninstalling Beltrapurint should help you make your computer safer and more secure by decreasing the chances of any accidental close encounters with Trojans, Ransomware, or other viruses or with any misleading and fake online pages. If you think you may need help with the elimination of this unpleasant app, be sure to check out the steps included in the removal guide for Beltrapurint.
