The browser hijackers are a type of software, which is commonly regarded as potentially unwanted despite it lacking the harmfulness of threats like computer viruses, Ransomware or Trojans. The main reason is that the hijackers tend to integrate with your main browser, be it Safari, Chrome, Firefox or any other one, and change its settings without asking for approval from your side. Usually, the changes involve replacement of the default search engine or of the preferred homepage and maybe some unauthorized toolbar modifications. Also, the aggressive generation of many different online advertisements such as pop-up, new tabs, banners, pre-defined links, plain text messages, click prompts and page-redirects is an additional trait of apps of this type. This may lead to a lot of time and nerves lost on trying to close those ads and pages you may get redirected to by the unwanted piece of software.

Horizon Living for Mac

Horizon Living for Mac is a form of browser malware that establishes control over the infected Mac browser and injects its search engine with ads. Horizon Living for Mac also looks through the recent browsing history to collect telemetry data and later sell it to other advertisers.

One of the newest representatives of this type of software which may initiate those kinds of activities inside your browser is called Horizon Living. If you’ve come to our website due to the fact that you have discovered this “uninvited guest” in your system, then stay with us because, in the next lines, we will explain to you how to safely uninstall the unwanted application quickly and without risking your system’s safety.

Typically, most browser hijackers are a bit challenging to uninstall if you are not aware of their specifics and that’s why we suggest you use the provided instructions below in order to speed up the process. Luckily, Horizon Living is not some nasty virus or a stealthy malware such as a Trojan Horse or some cryptovirus of the nefarious Ransomware family and that is why, as long as you make sure to follow the steps carefully or use the suggested professional removal tool, you will be able to get rid of the browser hijacker without facing any negative consequences for your system.

What is Horizon Living?

Horizon Living is junkware app that infiltrates Mac browsers and forces them to show ads and to page-redirect the user. Most software like Horizon Living isn’t inherently damaging but it may end up exposing the system to more hazardous forms of software.

Horizon Living, as most browser hijackers like Chill Search, is essentially a tool that serves the online marketing industry. Through all of the nagging banners, pop-ups, ads and sponsored links that get displayed on your screen, this application promotes certain goods and/or services to the users during their web browsing. This is a kind of personalized advertising, which is supported through a pay-per-click reward system. This remuneration model helps the manufacturers and distributors of the advertised items to gain exposure and clicks while the developers of applications like Horizon Living get rewarded depending on how many times the users click on certain advertisements.

The HorizonLiving app

The HorizonLiving app is a small Mac software that inserts ads in the main browser and forces automatic site-redirects. The HorizonLiving app belongs to the potentially unwanted family of software known as browser hijackers and its job is to generate revenue through the Pay-Per-Click model.

Legally speaking, this type of advertising is not forbidden and, therefore, most browser hijackers are not considered as viruses or security threats. However, in their attempts to promote more effectively and to earn more revenue from pay-per-click ads, these applications tend to employ some rather aggressive advertising methods and some controversial tactics, such as automatic page redirects and unauthorized modifications in the browser’s settings. All of this may eventually expose the web users to unreliable web locations or transmitters of real security threats such as Ransomware, Spyware, Trojans, etc.
