MyCRY

If you are seeking for a step-by-step removal guide on how to remove a Ransomware known as MyCRY form your computer, you are at the right page. This post is dedicated to the effective elimination of this harmful infection, which has the ability to secretly encrypt your most valuable files and demand a ransom for their decryption.

Mycry Ransomware

Fortunately, in the next lines, you will find out more about the specifics of this threat, its method of operation, and some alternative suggestions which may help you save some of your files from its secret encryption and remove the threat from your machine. Dealing with Ransomware and its consequences, however, can be very difficult. Some advanced and sophisticated versions of this malware can be a tough nut even for experienced security professionals. Therefore, we need to warn you that the recovery from the attack of MyCRY and Qqlc may not exactly be possible in every single case. Still, this should not discourage you from trying to remove the infection and clean your computer from its hidden harmful code. Prior to doing that, however, please carefully read the information presented below.

The MyCRY virus

A malware of the Ransomware type works differently compared to pretty much any other kind of computer threat. A cryptovirus such as MyCRY is not interested in corrupting your system or stealing your passwords like a Trojan.

Instead, all that is of interest to this malware is how to secretly locate and encrypt your most valuable files so that you cannot open or use them. For that, the infection typically sneaks in the computer with stealth and scans the hard drives for a list of targeted files. Most commonly, these are documents of various kinds, spreadsheets, archives, databases, media files, and other similar data.

Once the Ransomware has listed all the data of interest, it starts making copies of each file, which copies are encrypted, and, therefore, inaccessible. The originals get deleted from the computer, and all that remains there is a number of encrypted files that cannot be recognized or used by any program. Unfortunately, since the file-encryption, in general, is not a process that damages anything in the system, it typically manages to remain under the radar of most security programs, and its effects come as a total surprise to the victims. Most commonly, what happens is the users suddenly get greeted by a ransom-demanding message on their screens, which appears out of the blue. In this message, the hackers behind the infection ask for a ransom in exchange for providing the access for the blocked information. They promise to send a special decryption key, which can reverse the applied encryption if you pay a certain amount of money to the hackers’ cryptocurrency wallet.

The MyCRY file-encryption

Giving your money to the hackers, and receiving the decryption key seems like the only solution to bring everything back to normal, yet this is not always the case. In fact, even if you comply with the ransom demands of the hackers, and strictly pay all that they want, there is no guarantee that they will really send you the decryption key, let alone that it will work as intended. With this in mind, we encourage you first to give a try to some alternatives before risking your hard-earned money. The removal guide below is a good starting point, and, in combination with the professional MyCRY removal tool, may help you deal with the Ransomware to some extent.
