Sensiblemoth.com

If your computer has been infiltrated by Sensiblemoth.com, then you should know that this is a browser hijacker. As such, Sensiblemoth.com acts as an online advertising tool delivering tailored ads directly from your PC.

These ads can come in any shape and size and will be present on your screen regardless of the kind of websites you visit. Hence, one of the number one telltale signs of a browser hijacker infection are the unusually large numbers of banners, box messages, in-text links and popups that start crowding your screen every time you open your favorite browsing program.

The Sensiblemoth com virus

The only chance you stand is if you remove the Sensiblemoth com virus from your system. But this, too, may pose certain difficulties. Due to the nature of most browser hijackers like the Sensiblemoth com virus, Shampoo Extension, Lookaside.fbsbx.com, they don’t typically offer users an easy way to uninstall them. Therefore, you will need to take some extra steps as opposed to the removal of some regular software. But we have those covered in the removal guide that you will find below this post.

Sensiblemoth

Sensiblemoth and other browser hijackers fall into the category of potentially unwanted programs or PUPs. This is kind of the grey area between legitimate, useful software and viruses. Sensiblemoth doesn’t actually offer anything that would really benefit the end user. In essence, they’re just there to help advertise certain products and services and in doing so also generate revenue for their developers.

But aside from that, there’s a handful of other factors that help categorize browser hijackers like Sensible moth as PUPs. For example, they are usually installed without the end user realizing it – as added components to the setup of other programs.

  2. From the menu, click on the Add-ons button.

  4. Get rid of Sensiblemoth.com by removing it from extensions

If using Firefox:

  • Open Firefox
  • Select the three parallel lines menu and go to Add-ons.
  • Find the unwanted add-on and delete it from the browser – if there is more than one unwanted extension, remove all of them.
  • Go to the browser menu again, select Options, and then click on Home from the sidebar to the left.

How to Delete Sensiblemoth.com

  1. Open task manager
  2. Look for the Sensiblemoth.com process
  3. Select it and click on End task
  4. Open the file location to delete Sensiblemoth.com
  • Access the Task Manager by pressing together the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys and then selecting Task Manager.
  • Open Processes and there try to find a process with the name of the unwanted software. If you find it, select it with the right button of the mouse and click on the Open File Location option.
  • If you don’t see a “Sensiblemoth.com” process in the Task Manager, look for another suspicious process with an unusual name. It is likely that the unwanted process would be using lots of RAM and CPU so pay attention to the number of resources each process is using.
  • Tip: If you think you have singled out the unwanted process but are not sure, it’s always a good idea to search for information about it on the Internet – this should give you a general idea if the process is a legitimate one from a regular program or from your OS or if it is indeed likely linked to the adware.
  • If you find another suspicious process, open its File Location too.
  • Once in the File Location folder for the suspicious process, start testing all of the files that are stored there by dragging them to our free online scanner available below.
  • Each file will be scanned with up to 64 antivirus programs to ensure maximum accuracy
This scanner is free and will always remain free for our website's users.
This file is not matched with any known malware in the database. You can either do a full real-time scan of the file or skip it to upload a new file. Doing a full scan with 64 antivirus programs can take up to 3-4 minutes per file.

    What is Sensiblemoth.com?

Speaking of which, most popular browsers can be infiltrated by software like Sensiblemoth.com and this includes such commonly used ones as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc. Furthermore, browser hijackers can add new elements to your browser like plug-ins and toolbars, for example. And if that weren’t enough, if it hasn’t already, then Sensiblemoth.com may also replace your browser’s homepage and/or the default search engine. What can be described as highly annoying, however, is the fact that if you try to reset your configurations and return to your previous homepage and search engine, you will find this to be impossible. As soon as you restart your browsing program, Sensiblemoth.com will have overridden all the changes you made and that’s that.

    Is Sensiblemoth.com dangerous?

Then there’s also the fact that as a result of their aggressive advertising practices, users may potentially end up being exposed to harmful content. This includes unsafe web locations and possibly even viruses such as Trojans, ransomware, rootkits, etc. This ought to serve as a warning to not interact with any of the ads and other materials that Sensiblemoth.com may display on your screen. There’s no telling where a certain link or banner may take you if you click on it, and the developers of this software can’t guarantee you your safety either. With this in mind, the best course of action is to simply get rid of the source of this uncertainty and minimize the risk of landing an infection because of it.
