Atuct Service is a malicious software that belongs to the Coin Miner Trojan family and is bearing similarities to other malware like Aluc Service and AIService.exe miner. It is designed to use the infected computer’s resources to mine cryptocurrencies for the benefit of the attackers, therefore, its installation leads to significant CPU usage, sometimes to almost 100%, causing system slowdowns and potential overheating. However, Atuct Service can also perform other harmful actions, such as stealing sensitive information, installing additional malware, and allowing remote access and control of the affected system, which is why it should be removed as soon as possible.
Atuct software is a software that pretends to be a useful or legitimate service, such as a firewall, an antivirus, or a game, but in reality, it is a scam that can harm the computer and data. It asks the user to provide personal or financial information, such as name, email, phone number, or credit card number, in order to register or access the service. Then, it can use the information for various purposes, such as spamming, scamming, or hacking.
Atuct service is a term that refers to the Atuct software and the process that it runs. Atuct service operates as a malicious process that can run in the background and consume the computer’s resources. It is the primary component responsible for the initiation and execution of the malicious activities attributed to this malware and is typically located in the %AppData% or %ProgramFiles% folder with the name “AtuctService” or “Atuct Service”. Antimalware programs detect the atuctservice.exe as a danger to the system that should be removed, and failure to do so can cause issues for the computer, such as slowing down the performance, consuming the resources, crashing the system, corrupting the files, and compromising the security.
The Atuct App, also known as AtuctApp, operates as a coin miner application that silently installs itself on the computer without the user’s consent. Once it finds its way to the system, Atuct App’s primary objective is to use the infected computer’s resources to mine Bitcoins, Monero, or Ethereum cryptocurrencies and make the attackers richer. This Trojan is often distributed through deceptive methods, such as fake download links, spam emails, bundled software, or compromised websites, therefore, users tyipically get infected with it without knowing, and only then they start to experience the negative effects of its operation on their system.

Uninstall the Atuct Service app and kill its processes
The first thing you must try to do is look for any sketchy installs on your computer and uninstall anything you think may come from Atuct Service, Atuct Application or Barousel. After that, you’ll also need to get rid of any processes that may be related to the unwanted app by searching for them in the Task Manager.
Note that sometimes an app, especially a rogue one, may ask you to install something else or keep some of its data (such as settings files) on your PC – never agree to that when trying to delete a potentially rogue software. You need to make sure that everything is removed from your PC to get rid of the malware. Also, if you aren’t allowed to go through with the uninstallation, proceed with the guide, and try again after you’ve completed everything else.
- Uninstalling the rogue app
- Killing any rogue processes
Type Apps & Features in the Start Menu, open the first result, sort the list of apps by date, and look for suspicious recently installed entries.
Click on anything you think could be linked to Atuct Service, then select uninstall, and follow the prompts to delete the app.
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, click More Details (if it’s not already clicked), and look for suspicious entries that may be linked to Atuct Service.
If you come across a questionable process, right-click it, click Open File Location, scan the files with the free online malware scanner shown below, and then delete anything that gets flagged as a threat.
After that, if the rogue process is still visible in the Task Manager, right-click it again and select End Process.
