Maxon Click Virus Android

Need help removing Maxon click?

The Maxon click is closely associated with Attentioner.com and may come up with a varying number of fake messages to convince you to download bogus security apps or cause you to waste time and/or money using other types of fraud. Please note that this is different from typical Ad-frauds you can find online.

Many websites have integrated within their pages all sorts of annoying pop-ups, banners, box messages and other intrusive ads. These come from the sites themselves and have nothing to do with your computer. Usually webpages that have overly-obstructive adverts should be avoided – such pages tend to be nasty and/or may lead you into exposing your phone or PC to harmful threats. However, if the rage-inducing pop-up ads appear to be on every page you open, even on sites that usually don’t have integrated ads, then it might be that your device has had Maxon click installed on it. Maxon click is an adware type of program/browser add-on. Adware programs’ sole purpose is to generate ads on your screen and generate revenue for their developers via the pay-per-click method. Maxon click is no exception – once inside your system, it will flood your browser with it’s obstructive pop-ups. Usually, all browsers are affected by the unwanted application.

No need to panic, though. Adware are usually quite harmless and easy to deal with (they are not viruses, or god forbid anything as dangerous as ransomware). Often a simple uninstall will be enough to remove the intrusive plug-in. However, know that in some cases a simple program uninstall might not suffice. For those cases, we’ve prepared a detailed guide (just below this article) on how to fully remove any trace of the unwanted software from your computer. As we already said, Maxon click “virus” is probably not going to damage your device. Keep in mind, though, that the ads you see displayed on your screen may be potentially dangerous. Most of them are not fake and pose no threat to your system, but there might be some of them that could redirect you to malicious, virus-infested sites. This is rare, but nonetheless possible. Therefore, avoid clicking on any of the ads. Sometimes the adware may redirect you to an unknown page, filled with adverts. Make sure that you don’t interact with that page and close it as quickly as possible.

Preventing Maxon click and other Adware from infecting your device

Once you know how the unwanted browser add-on gets in your system, it should be quite easy for you to prevent this from happening. There are several common methods most of which are not overly successful.

  • Spam e-mails are one of the most widely spread method for Maxon click distribution. This one, however is not very effective, because any spam letters that you receive usually go into the spam folder and no one ever goes there, do they? Albeit, you may still want to be careful when checking your inbox. It’s always possible that a spam letter has gotten past your e-mail filtering system and into your regular e-mail folder. Just make sure that you double-check any new messages before opening them – first look at the name of the person who’s send it and then at the title of the letter. If any of it looks suspicious – don’t open the message.
  • Downloading stuff from file-sharing sites and illegal torrent sites is also a possible way to land an adware such as Maxon click. It’s a good rule of thumb to stay away from any suspicious-looking webpages as a whole. Downloading content from such addresses may not be the brightest idea ever. Adware is the least problematic unwanted program that you may land by visiting such websites.
  • Program-bundling is probably the most effective method for Maxon click “virus” and other adware distribution. The unwanted application is bundled with an application that you’ve downloaded and once you install it, the intrusive add-on gets installed along the main thing. Usually such bundling is to be expected with cheap/free apps, but it can practically happen with every piece of software that you install on your PC. The reason why it is so effective is because users hardly ever pay attention to the details of the installation. Preventing the intrusive plug-in from getting on your computer is possible. Only ever download apps from the Google play store and never install them from random .APK files downloaded from the internet. If an installation menu is present uncheck all options that will lead to additional apps installing on your device.

If you remember these tips we gave you, you should have no problem protecting your phone from any sort of adware programs. If you already have one on your device and struggle with its removal, head down to our guide on how to remove Maxon click.

  • Hi Denise,
the guide is about android operational system but do you have Maxon on your device as well?

    • Unfortunately it’s both on my iPhone and iPad, whenever I click a link, it gets redirected to maxonclick and then either a random website or it tries to open the App Store to download an app. Even links such as bbc news, it gets redirected. Could you please help me find a solution?

I messaged howtoremove. Guide on Facebook about it and they told me to comment on here and someone would be able to help me.

      • Hi again, I’ll do my best to help you.

What you have on your devices is a browser hijacker. It is probably hidden inside some of your apps or attached to the browser itself. Please try to remember if you started getting redirects at the same time both on the iPhone and iPad. Also, have you recently installed the same app on both devices? I’m leaning towards a browser attachment, but i need your confirmation before i can suggest a solution.

  • Hi Baloota,

    • Hi Mohamed,
Did you find it difficult to complete the guide? Is there a step which is giving you troubles ?

  • I also have the same problem and it’s been months. I’ve tried everything including the methods given above. I even factory reset my phone and reinstalled the required apps only. But the adware still remains. It’s initially redirected to goac or gobh, then to gocloudly, after that maxonclick and then to several random sites. Please help.

    • What apps do you have on your phone? Are there any non-integral/factory apps left after the factory reset?
