Search Snow is a program that typically operates as a browser hijacker as soon as it embeds itself in Safari, Chrome and other Mac browsers. Most commonly, Search Snow starts promoting various web pages on the screen of the user by displaying various pop-up ads, banners and redirect links.
The main reason browser hijacker apps like Search Snow, Search Marquis or Search Baron primarily exist is to advertise different websites and the goods, services and software placed there. That is why such applications typically do everything possible to facilitate the generation of related ads and page-redirect links inside the user’s main web browser. In most cases, they make changes to the search engine, the homepage address and the toolbars of the browser and embed some potentially unwanted tools, page-redirect buttons and new components that serve some advertising purpose. Thankfully, applications such as Search Snow are not related to actions that can damage a Mac computer in a serious way. Still, if not removed, they may expose users to numerous sketchy pop-up advertisements, flashy on-screen alerts, unwanted banners and click-prompts. People who let browser hijackers to operate inside their browser may experience auto redirects to gambling or adult sites, phishing pages or questionable web locations that may be infected with viruses, Trojans, Ransomware and other malware. Therefore, uninstalling this software and restoring your web browser to its previous state is the best way to proceed.
Search Snow for Mac
Search Snow for Mac is an aggressive page-promoting program that can overtake Mac browsers with page-redirect click prompts and sponsored web ads. Search Snow for Mac has no virus-like features but can still make unauthorized changes to your browser, thus, it is considered to be potentially unwanted.
People with Search Snow on their Mac generally complain about the constant production of banners, pop-up alerts and colorful notifications all over their screen. These ads often are reported to cover the content of the pages which the users are trying to visit. They also are quite difficult to remove since clicking on them normally leads to a whole new stream of pop-ups and redirect messages. Another source of annoyance is the auto-redirect service which reroutes users’ searches to pre-defined URLs as soon as they type something into the browser’s address bar. Sadly, neither this redirect service nor the aggressive ads can be restricted, customized or removed through traditional methods. That’s why the users commonly resort to the use of a professional removal tool or a detailed removal guide like the ones that can be found below this article.
