Weather Home App Malware

Weather Home App

Weather Home App is an Android application that is installed stealthily to divert the browser of the infected smart device into an ad-generating and page-redirecting tool.  Once it gets nestled inside your smartphone or tablet, Weather Home App starts displaying screen-wide banners, pop-ups, and notifications that aggressively promote different products, services, and sites.

The Weather Home app took control of your phone and changed everything you see on the screen

It might seem alarming that this sort of program exists on your Android device and, indeed, many of the functions of Weather Home App may strongly mimic a virus. To your relief, though, this unwelcome app isn’t some dangerous Trojan Horse virus or a Ransomware threat.

However, the persistent ad generation and the updates this software may introduce inside your Chrome, Firefox, or other Android browsers is more than enough for you to want to remove it.

The Weather Home App Malware

In most cases, The Weather Home App Malware may alter your browser’s home page and/or the main search engine without your approval. In addition to that, the Weather Home App Malware may randomly redirect you to different sites.

Aside from being quite invasive towards your browsing experience, the software’s actions may often have negative consequences on the overall performance and protection of your smartphone or tablet. Though this browser-hijacking app is normally unable to cause any serious damage, the ads, pop-ups, and links promoted by Weather Home App may not be so innocuous. Therefore, if you want to avoid landing on phishing sites or websites which spread malware, it is best to remove the ad-generating and page-redirecting app with the help of the instructions below.

Step3

Restart your Browser. It might be a good idea to Reboot your Android device, just in case.

  • Important!

If you are still seeing Ads in your browser, it is likely they are generated by the websites you visit and there is nothing you can do about it.

However, if you are seeing Adverts outside of your internet browser, then one of your installed Apps contains the problematic Adware. In this case you need to take a look at this guide.

  • I went to Settings – Apps – selected Weather Home app- Force Stop. Then went again to Settings – Apps – select Weather Home app – click Uninstall. Screen display returned to normal.

  • I followed the step AA did, but when I go back to Apps after the force stop, there is a shadowed/unavailable to uninstall, any more ideas, this app is really jacking up my phone

  • I am unable to locate weather home on my phone. I mistakenly downloaded the app. I can no longer get to google play…I forced stop…did not work….now it controls all of my web browsing, and I am now on yahoo — which I have never used. I removed my SIM card…dunno if that was necessary. Concerned about my private info — bank accounts, messages, financial and utilities information, all passwords.

  • Found your How to for uninstalling the Weather Home app. Followed the instructions and turned off the phone. It Did Not Work. The app is still on the phone and started right up.

Please advise if there are any other steps to uninstall this app.

    Thanks

    Michael

  • So I was able to Uninstall the Weather Home App. I followed your instructions but I added one additional step after clearing the Storage and the Cache in the App. I opened the “Open by default” Label under the App Info and it showed my Moto default and the Weather Home default. I selected the Moto default. When I went back to my Main screen the Weather Home App was not controlling my screen but the App icon did show on my screen. I was then able to press on it and drag it up to the Uninstall option which happily worked.

  • When you install the weather home app or the messenger home app, and then put it on default, it will take you to the different home page, it will switch to a different home page away from the Google home page, and once you are there, you can’t switch back to a normal Google home page until you uninstall the Weather Home, or the Messenger Home app. If these two icons are not on the home screen, they can’t be uninstalled, and you will be out of luck.

    • WARNING: Stay away from the Weather Home App, or the Messenger Home app, because these two apps have a virus. Once you install them, and then set them on default, they will redirect you to a different home page, away from the Google home page. If both of these icons are not on the home screen, they cannot be uninstalled and you will be out of luck. Once these two apps are set on default, you will be stuck on this home page, and can’t switch back to the normal Google home page.

      • Avoid these three apps (e.g., The Weather Home, The News Home, and the Messenger Home) at your own costs that can cause your phone to be infected and then get a virus.

  • WARNING: stay away from the News Home, The Weather Home, or The Messenger Home App at your own cost. Once you have set that app that I mentioned above on default, it will redirect you away from the Google home page. Once one of these three apps are installed, and set on default, and if that app’s icon is not on the home screen, they cannot be uninstalled you will be out of luck, and you can’t switch back to the regular Google home page.

  • WARNING: avoid these 5 apps at your own costs: (e.g., The Weather Home, WeatherVane Home, Radar Home, News Home, and Messenger Home (e. g. these apps that mentioned the word: Home). Once you download one of these apps that I mentioned above, and put it on default, it will redirect you away from the normal Google homepage. Once one of these apps that I mentioned above are installed and set to default, and if that app’s icon is not on the screen, that particular ” Home” app cannot be uninstalled (e.g. its icon will be faded out), and it will not allow you to switch back to the regular normal Google homepage

  • These apps seen here are on Android Launcher that unite your homescreen with these apps that I mentioned above. When one of these apps are installed and set on default, it will automatically replace the Google homescreen with a homescreen that is related to that “Home” app that is geared toward people that want easy access to your existing library of apps that you have on your Google homescreen.
If you want to leave (or get out) that “home” app you installed on your phone, 1. go to your phone’s settings 2. go to Factory Reset, and 3. reset phone, and it will redirect you back to normal Google homescreen
