Display Success for Mac

Display Success for Mac is a browser hijacker that will change the default search engine and the home page of your main web browser and will add new components to it. Normally Display Success for Mac can make these modifications without seeking user’s permission and, thus, it can be mistaken for a virus.

In reality, however, this program is not a virus (or malware from the rank of Worms, Trojans and Ransomware) but an online advertising software that seeks to generate various pop-up advertisements, banner messages and online promotions on your screen. Display Success also seeks to redirect you to pages that pay for traffic. That’s why its search engine and homepage typically display some pre-defined URLs and sponsored search results that directly link to partnering pages.

What is Display Success?

Display Success is a piece of software built to hijack the settings of Mac browsers in order to support various websites by automatically redirecting user searches to their URLs. Due to this activity, Display Success is referred to as a browser hijacker and is considered as potentially unwanted by a lot of users.

Many people find it hard to use their browser normally when an application like Display Success operates on their system. They frequently complain by the auto-redirects to sites that they have no intentions to visit and the inability to uninstall the search engine and the homepage components that initiate these redirects. Another cause for annoyance is the unstoppable stream of on-screen ads, pop-ups, banners and alerts that cannot be removed by any means. Such ads often leave the users no other choice but to click on them in order to continue to navigate the page they are visiting. Security professionals inform, though, that clicking on these random messages is not advisable because they may potentially send you to sketchy offers or sites embedded with viruses, ransomware, Trojans and other malware.
