What can Error DT00X2 “Virus” do and why should I consider uninstalling it?

If you frequently use your browser in your work or education or even just for entertainment, having a browser hijacker installed on your PC can quickly turn your web surfing into a series of ads interruptions. A piece of software like Error DT00X2 may modify your preferred search engine or homepage, set new toolbars or automatic page-redirects to some unfamiliar sites and fill your screen with various blinking boxes, ads, popping new tabs and banners, regardless of what you are typing and what you are looking for. As a result, you may regularly find yourself visiting web locations that you never wanted to go to in the first place or landing on inappropriate content which could even be potentially dangerous. This can make it rather difficult to navigate through the never-ending ads stream and even mislead you into clicking on insafe links, shady pop-ups or sites with questionable contents.

There are many web users who get panicked when they realize that an application like Error DT00X2 “Virus” has taken control over their browser. In their confusion, they regard the browser hijacker as a virus. And, indeed, it is true that uninstalling a hijacker could be a bit challenging and the app itself is likely to be highly irritating. However, such a piece of software is normally not supposed to cause harm or damage anything that’s in your system. The Browser hijacker operates solely as an advertising tool which tries to promote certain pages, search engine tools, homepage domains and different ads of products and services and earn Pay-Per-Click profits from that. It does not contain malicious scripts and should typically be incapable of stealing your passwords like a Trojan horse or encrypting your data like a Ransomware virus. All this considered, it is generally better to get rid of the annoying software instead of allowing it to continue its disturbing ads generation and redirects without your approval.

How to get rid of the ads invasion?

Uninstalling an application like Error DT00X2 “Virus” might be a bit challenging but definitely much easier than dealing with a real virus from the ranks of Ransomware, Spyware, Trojans and similar nasty threats. However, it is oftentimes not enough to just press the uninstall button of the application and hope that all of its components would go away. That’s why, what we suggest you do is run a full scan of your system with the professional Error DT00X2 removal tool on this page or a similar reputed software tool and have the browser hijacker removed at once. Alternatively, you can try to detect the hijacker’s components manually. There is a detailed Removal Guide below which contains screenshots and detailed instructions on that.
