Jaleepsorous.website is a browser add-on that, once installed in the browser, tends to aggressively promote different sites by causing automatic page-redirects to them. Jaleepsorous.website may also change the starting page or default search engine of the browser to further achieve its site-promoting goals.

If you’ve recently found that your browser is behaving strangely and that certain changes have been introduced to it that you haven’t approved, then there’s a high chance that there is a browser hijacker, such as Jaleepsorous.website or Go-go.tech, added to it. Other common symptoms are ads appearing on every site you visit, including ones that don’t normally have them. It’s also possible that new extensions have been added to the browser without your approval.

As a result of the advertising activities of the hijacker, your PC may have become slower and less responsive and your browser may even experience crashes from time to time. All of this could be quite unnerving, but it’s important to stay calm. The good news here is that, if it’s indeed a hijacker that you are dealing with, then your computer and the files stored on it should be safe as long as you take the necessary actions to remove Jaleepsorous.website and, in the meanwhile, keep away from any content or sites that it may try to put on your screen.

What’s the goal of Jaleepsorous.website and why it makes it hazardous?

Jaleepsorous.website isn’t like Ransomware or Trojans in the sense that it is not designed to damage or steal your data or to take over your entire computer. The purpose of apps like it is to advertise different sites and products by aggressively spamming the user’s screen with ads and by triggering page-redirects that would lead you to them. These apps are also known to collect data from the browser to better determine what the user may be interested in and then provide more relevant ads.

Obviously, this is a well-known practice that isn’t considered as illegal or harmful, which is why most antivirus programs do not flag Jaleepsorous.website as a threat. However, the reason experts still consider the browser hijacker category, in general, as hazardous, is that the sites, services, and products that these apps may sometimes advertise aren’t guaranteed to be safe or legitimate.

There’s typically no filter on what a hijacker may promote, so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that an app like Jaleepsorous.website may redirect you to some sketchy, malware-filled website that’s used for tricking users into downloading disguised Trojans or Ransomware on their computers. Hijackers are also often used for promoting phishing pages or other scam pages that are designed to trick users into providing banking credentials or login data to sites such as Steam or Epic Games Store.

All in all, it should be more than obvious that an app like Jaleepsorous.website should not be kept on your computer, which is why we strongly recommend that you delete it ASAP. In most cases, uninstalling the hijacker isn’t enough to fully get rid of it, and so additional actions are required. You can learn what these actions are as well as find a professional removal tool that can help you with Jaleepsorous.website in the guide we’ve posted down below.
