This page aims to help you remove RayBan virus scam. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

Internet scams are everywhere and all users need to be careful when exploring the online world so that they do not accidentally expose their computer and their virtual privacy to risk. Here, we will tell you more about a widespread scam virus which targets users’ Facebook and Instagram accounts, hacking them and making posts from them on behalf of the victim. The scam is known as the RayBan virus scam since it uses fake offers of RayBan sunglasses with big discounts in order to lure naive and less experienced users into clicking on those offers and getting infected/hacked. If you have recently fallen prey to this insidious scam, we advise you to stay with use throughout the rest of this write-up and then take a look at the removal guide manual that we have posted below. Use the instructions provided within the guide or the recommended removal security tool in order to liberate your PC from the insidious effects of this malware threat. Note that the level of danger that this scam represents is considerably high since it is capable of infiltrating the user’s social media accounts. While there are no reports about this malware getting used for anything other than tricking users into paying money for products they are never going to get and using their social media accounts for further spreading the scam, since the virus is able to get inside its victims online profiles, it could easily get exploited for much more malicious tasks which is why it is of utmost importance that you clean your PC ASAP.

How does the scam work?

Here, we will briefly explain how this scam actually works and what its current purpose supposedly is. Any Facebook/Instagram profile that has already been infiltrated is set to automatically make posts with the fake RayBan discount offers. The idea is that some users who see those offers would get lured into clicking on them which would likely redirect them to some phishing page. If the user isn’t careful enough, they’d likely get tricked through the phishing page into allowing the malware to gain access to their social media account. Also, the said page is designed as a legitimate RayBan online store with items that are up for sale. Since there would be big discounts there, many might fall for this ruse and attempt to purchase something from the fake site.

However, should anyone do that, what’s likely going to happen is they’d simply send their money to the scammers (likely also giving all their credit/debit card credentials) and would then receive nothing in return. This scam really has the potential to rob anyone of their money as long as the user isn’t careful and doesn’t notice that the page that they’ve visited is actually a fake web store. This is indeed a very dangerous scam not only because you could potentially lose a lot of money if you fall for it but also because you are likely to give the criminals access to your Facebook or Instagram accounts. Now that you are aware of how this scheme is supposed to work, make sure that you stay vigilant while online and never click on any Facebook or Instagram posts that promote sales with big discounts on RayBan products especially if the offer is coming from a person in your contacts list. In fact, if you notice that any of your Facebook or Instagram friends have posted such offers from their profiles, it’s highly likely that their accounts have been hacked in which case it might be a good idea to inform them about that since they might not even be aware of this scam.
