It’s never a good idea to keep viruses on your computer – even if we are talking about Adware as Ads by Dealsy, which specialist consider the least dangerous type of viruses out there. This thing will tirelessly spawn Ads in your browser until the moment you remove it. This article is intended to help you do that, as well as give you useful information about how it ended up in your computer. These things use a number of tricks and once you know them it will be much harder for them to make it past you and into your computer.
Adware actually prefers to use human authorization as a way to enter computers. It is much easier for trick an unsuspecting user to bypass system security and install the virus then attack the system directly. For this reason virus creators will use all kinds of tricks to fool the user.
Never click on the ads – regardless if they are spawned by Ads by Dealsy or by some random internet site
Having these on your computers can certainly be a harrowing experience for your nerves, but at least your computer is in no danger, at least not directly from the Ads. This situation can dramatically change if you ever click on the Ads. Especially downloading and running anything they offer you might have catastrophic results. There is no knowing what virus exactly might be hiding behind those shiny hyperlinks.
Really, there is nothing real in those Ads anyway. At best you’ll see a copy of some existing program or product, but it will be a fake and worthless. Spending money would certainly be disastrous.
Some things may not look like Ads, but they are
Years of exposure to advertisement being shows to us practically everywhere have left many of us pretty resistant to them. However not many people have good understanding how computers work. Virus makers use Ads that look like system messages to confuse and distract you, make you believe your computer has some kind of problem. You are then offered a download with a “solution” to that problem and that file is a virus. We’ve listed several examples below that you may see generated by Ads by Dealsy:
- An online anti-virus scanner has detected a number of viruses in your computer. You need to download and run the scanner so it can remove them.
- Some important program on your computer has become outdated and is currently a security risk. The virus kindly offers you to download the update.
- There is a page with error messages and no content. The errors say you have a missing plug-in or video player that has to be installed before you can see them. Naturally you are offered a download.
If you have a suspicion that either of these might be true don’t trust the Adware! Look up the relevant program on the internet and download the installer you need from the official site for it. Only way to be sure you won’t end up with a virus contaminated file.
How to Remove Ads by Dealsy
STEP 1:
Our first step here is a reboot in Windows Safe Mode. If you already know how to do it, just skip this and proceed to Step 2. If you do not know how to do it, continue reading:
For Windows 98, XP, Millenium and 7 Users:
Restart your computer. To be sure you don’t miss the window of time when you need to press it, just spam F8 as soon as the PC starts booting. In the new menu, choose Safe Mode With Networking.
Proceed to Step 2.
For Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Users:
Click the Start button , then Control Panel —> System and Security —> Administrative Tools —> System Configuration.
Then check the Safe Boot option and click OK. Click Restart in the new pop-up.
Proceed to Step 2.
For OS X Users:
When you Mac is turned off, press the Power Button. After you hear the Startup Sound, immediately press and hold the Shift key until the Apple logo appears.
Proceed to Step 2.
STEP 2:
Ads by Dealsy has infected ALL of your browsers. Apply the steps separately for each one.
For Internet Explorer Users:
Open IE, then click —–> Manage Add-ons.
Find Ads by Dealsy . Disable it.
If your Home Page is different from the usual, click —–> Internet Options>edit the URL box with your preferred search engine, and click Apply.
For Mozilla Firefox Users:
Open Firefox, click on (top right) ——-> Add-ons.

Hit Extensions next.
Ads by Dealsy should be somewhere around here – Remove it.
For Google Chrome Users:
Start Chrome, click —–>More Tools —–> Extensions.
In Extensions, find the virus and select .
Click again, and proceed to Settings —> Search (the fourth tab), select Manage Search Engines. Remove anything but the search engines you normally use.
For Safari Users:
Open Safari, and click Safari —–>Preferences —–> Extensions—–>Uninstall the malware.
(Works for Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1)
Hold and R together. Write appwiz.cpl in the new field, then click OK.
You are now in the Control Panel. Search around for Ads by Dealsy and anything else suspicious-looking. Uninstall it/them. Also, be extremely careful. Viruses often spend one last ditch effort to trick you into installing more of their kind (Adware examples of this happening include Wander Burst Ads). If you see a screen like this when you click Uninstall, choose NO:
STEP 4:
This is perhaps the most important and difficult step, so be extremely careful. Open the Task Manager by right clicking on the Taskbar and choosing Start Task Manager.
Once it opens, choose the Processes Tab. Look at all of the processes in front of you and try to determine which ones are a virus. Google them or ask us in the comments and we will provide the best assistance we can. If the virus returns later on, the reason is that you missed something here.
Right click on each of the virus processes separately and select Open File Location. Also, End the process after you open the folder. Just to make sure we don’t delete any programs you mistakenly took for a virus, copy the folders somewhere, then delete the directories you were sent to.
STEP 5:
We’ve had reports that this virus can come back after you uninstall it. This usually takes place on system boot. If this happens, do the following:
Type Regedit in the windows search field and press Enter.
Once inside, press CTRL and F together and type the virus’s Name. Right click and delete any entries you find with a similar name. Alternatively, if you can’t find any this way, look in these directories, and delete the registries manually:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—–Random numbers
HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—Microsoft—-Windows—CurrentVersion—Run– Random
HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—Microsoft—Internet Explorer—-Main—- Random
