This page aims to help you remove Wanna Decryptor Virus for free. Our instructions also cover how any Wanna Decryptor Virus file can be recovered.

There are a many different kinds of PC viruses out there but few of them are as problematic and as difficult to deal with as the infamous Ransomware type and more specifically, the so-called cryptovirus. If your PC gets invaded by one such virus, it won’t be long before the personal data stored on the computer’s hard-drive gets locked by an advanced encryption code. As soon as the malicious program manages to complete its task, it would usually display a notification on your screen that contains instructions on how to pay ransom in order to restore the access to your own files. In the majority of instances the Ransomware’s victim is required to make the payment using bitcoins, which makes it next to impossible to track down the blackmailer after the money has been transferred. One newly released Ransomware virus known as Wanna Decryptor Virus is what the focus of this article is going to be. If you currently have this noxious software on your PC, we advise you to keep on reading. At the bottom of the article you can find a guide, which contains instructions on how to remove the nasty virus from your PC and how to potentially restore your access to the files without paying anything to the cyber-criminal who’s blackmailing you. However, one important thing to keep in mind regarding Ransomware is the fact that this particular type of malware is evolving very rapidly and methods that might have worked a day ago might not be as effective today. We cannot guarantee you that the removal guide will solve everything in all instances of Ransomware infections. Still, it is highly advisable that you first try our methods and then seek another way to resolve your problem.

More information regarding Ransomware

Not all Ransomware viruses are the same. Though they are normally used for the same purpose, namely blackmailing people, the way they achieve that is different.

  • For example, one sub-category of Ransomware, instead of locking your files one by one, simply displays a large banner onto the PC’s screen that blocks the access to anything on the computer. That way, the user is forced to pay the ransom or the banner would not go away (at least that’s what the hacker wants you to think). The truth is that this particular kind of virus is not as problematic since as soon as the malware gets removed, the intrusive banner would go away as well.
  • Cryptoviruses like Wanna Decryptor Virus, on the other hand, are not like that. If Wanna Decryptor Virus manages to lock your files with its sophisticated encryption code, then it will no longer matter whether the virus is on the PC or not, the data would still be inaccessible unless the user has the necessary key to unlock it. Of course, removing the virus first before attempting to restore the access to the files is still a necessity because if the infection does not get eliminated, it might still attempt to encrypt the documents once again.
  • Another Ransomware variation is what most experts refer to as Leakware. With this type of virus, the user is threatened that their personal data would get uploaded to some shady and illegal website, thus making it publicly accessible. This, however, would only be effective if the Ransomware’s victim has sensitive data stored on their machines, which is not always the case. For that reason, Leakware attacks are not as common.

Is there a way to detect Wanna Decryptor Virus?

The fact that Ransomware does not actually inflict any damage to the computer system or the files that it locks makes it difficult for most antivirus programs to detect the infection since no actual harm is being done. This makes it that more difficult to spot a Ransomware virus in time and prevent it from completing its malicious task. In addition to that, one should also keep in mind that most symptoms triggered by malware like Wanna Decryptor Virus are somewhat difficult to notice. For example, there might be an increase of the CPU and RAM consumption which might lead to an overall PC slowdown or the user might notice that there’s less-than-usual free HDD space on the PC, yet those are situational and oftentimes way too subtle to be noticed by most people. Still, one should always keep their eyes open and as soon as they notice that their machine starts to behave in an unusual or odd manner, they ought to shut it down immediately and seek professional aid.

Keep your system safe!

There are a several crucial rules that each of our readers needs to remember and adhere to if they are to avoid having their computer invaded by Ransomware:

  • Make sure that you do not put your system at risk by visiting websites with a bad reputation that could be potentially illegal.
  • Be careful with any online ads or web offers that look suspicious. Normally, you should not click on anything in your browser that might not be safe.
  • The same applies to any new e-mail or social network messages that contain sketchy links or have files attached to them. If you cannot be sure that they are not some sort of harmful spam, do not interact with them.
  • It is still a necessity that you have a good antivirus program on your PC since it will improve the overall protection of your system and help you fight off potential Trojan horse attacks which is very important since Trojans are commonly used to further distribute Ransomware.
  • You must always have all of your important files backed up on a separate device or on a cloud so that even if Ransomware gets inside your machine, you will still have access to your date through the backup.
