General information about the Trojan Horses and their specifics

Trojan horses (or Trojans in short) are a vast malware group, which is well-known among the IT community. The infections of this type are extremely dangerous and very versatile. Despite that, they all come with similar characteristics. One major thing that unites all those computer threats under the Trojan category is that they typically use camouflage to enter the system. Most of the times, users cannot distinguish the treat from a normal-looking file, image, link, ad or application and are tricked into click on it, without actually knowing that this is malware. This way, Trojans manage to compromise the computer unnoticed. What is more, they usually don’t trigger any visible symptoms, which makes their detection and removal really challenging. Once inside, these dreadful threats can perform all sorts of criminal and harmful activities while remaining in complete stealth.

How harmful can a threat like Wmcagent Virus be?

Stealth is a major factor to the Trojans’ success. That’s why an infection like Wmcagent would usually not to trigger any visible symptoms during its stay on the computer. There is a reason why these viruses are called “Trojans” – such infections are often capable of launching hidden attacks in the background of your computer, exploiting the system resources or introducing other malware such as Ransomware or Spyware without the victim having any clue about it. Apart from operating as a backdoor for other viruses, threats like Wmcagent could also cause serious system damage. They may delete specific information, format disks, cause malfunction to software, modify major system processes, cause sudden crashes or complete corruption of the infected machine. Some representatives of this malware category may even provide their criminal creators with complete remote access to the computer and let the hackers literally spy on you through your camera or mic.  Your personal or work-related files, passwords, login credentials or banking details may also be stolen and used by the criminals for blackmailing, money theft as well as for other similar insidious purposes.

Surely you don’t need more reasons to remove Wmcagent immediately and delete all of its malicious scripts unless you want to experience some of the possible harmful actions on your own. The sooner you get rid of the Trojan, the better the chance of saving yourself from a potential damage to the system, so don’t lose time and take a look at the instructions in the Removal Guide below.

Protection against Trojans

Most people, who have ended up with Trojan infections like Wmcagent have either clicked on a potential transmitter without knowing it or have some serious system vulnerabilities, which the malware has exploited. That’s why being careful when browsing the Internet and providing your system with reliable antivirus protection are both very important security rules that you need to adhere to. So, for those of you, who truly wish to keep their PC clean and safe in future, we highly recommend you invest in a reputed security software program, update your system to the latest version and pay close attention to the content that you interact with.
