Yeabests “Virus” Removal

To begin with – Browser Hijacker in general

Browser Hijacker is the name of the type of software, famous for catalyzing the appearance of many ads on your monitor, while you are browsing the Internet. Such software is usually exploited by its creators to promote as many products and services as it possibly can and to earn serious profits in this way. This marketing strategy is legal and very attractive and is referred to as the pay per click scheme. There are several options when it comes to the process of distribution of YeaBests . One possibility is the streaming video websites or the torrents you like to download. Another possible option might be any suspicious or spam email. However, Browser Hijacker gets around mostly within software bundles. Programmers are willing to make such combinations of different sorts of software because of the aforementioned prospects for serious extra income for them. What they basically do is bundle their software with an Browser Hijacker-type program and let everyone access it for free.

Please, pay attention to the following information as you might at first think that Browser Hijacker can just sneak inside your system from the given bundle. Actually, it cannot. You have to allow the installer of the bundle put everything from it on your PC. Normally this may happen if you act carelessly and choose the Quick feature of the installation wizard. {Please, note that that feature might have many various names like Automatic/ Default/ Typical.}. When you make a decision to choose that or a similar feature, you actually let the programs in the bundle decide for you what will enter your PC. Forget about such options. Make sure that you always choose the other possibility – the so-called Custom or Advanced one. By doing that you will spare yourself a lot of time and energy that you would otherwise spend removing an already existing infection.

Apart from installing programs correctly, is there any more advice on preventing the YeaBests “Virus”?

While there is no single correct recipe for a healthy PC, you may still benefit from some basic prevention tips. Such advice includes having a high-quality anti-malware tool to stop any Browser Hijacker and different types of malware like Ransomware from being incorporated into your system. Another useful tip is to turn on and update your Firewall, as it could prevent you from visiting possibly dangerous online addresses. One more helpful tip is to try to find the balance between the quality of the products you download and their price. Often you may find out that you spend more money repairing your computer from some damages, caused by suspicious software, than you may normally spend on purchasing top-quality paid programs. Keeping all that in mind might save you from catching Browser Hijacker ever again.

Is there a difference between Browser Hijacker and malware?

Malware represents all malicious programs that may cause serious damage to your PC. Some of them hijack your files and demand ransom, as most versions of Ransomware do. Other viruses spy on you or their creators just crash your system for fun. Browser Hijacker is not a virus. There are no reported cases of any malicious activity connected to that sort of ad-producing programs. Still, some users might consider some of its features highly undesirable. For instance, the ability of YeaBests to produce only ads related to your recent search inquiries, as Browser Hijacker may normally uses your surfing activities to determine your particular interests.  Another probable cause of anxiety that YeaBests may bring to users is that it might be able to redirect you to potentially dangerous web pages with equally dangerous content.
