Bingo Captcha Point Top

Bingo Captcha Point Top is an application that generally looks very similar to a normal browser extension and is usually able to operate as an added component to browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. However, if you have had Bingo Captcha Point Top installed in your system, you may quickly realize that it operates quite differently than most regular browser extensions and add-ons.

For instance, instead of providing you with some actual functionality, Bingo Captcha Point tends to make unwanted changes to your main browser without asking for approval.

It typically installs a new search engine or a toolbar and replaces the default homepage with another, sponsored one. What’s more, it forces the browser to generate hundreds of pop-up ads, banners and page-redirects on every page that you open. This way, the strange software affects your web browsing experience in a rather negative way by constantly exposing you to different commercials.

The Bingo Captcha Point Virus

If you’ve landed on this page, you most probably already have had the Bingo Captcha Point virus installed in your system and are now wondering how to safely have its changes revoked and its ads removed without causing harm to the computer. Luckily, we have some good news for you – the Bingo Captcha Point virus is not as problematic as a real virus like ransomware or a Trojan horse.

That’s why you can get rid of it fairly easily if you follow the instructions that our “How to remove” team has prepared below.

Bingocaptchapoint.top

Judging by the way it operates, it seems that Bingocaptchapoint.top belongs to the browser hijacker software category. Bingocaptchapoint.top can be very annoying even though it lacks the typical harmful abilities of an actual harmful piece of malware. That’s why, below you will find all the information necessary to safely and quickly remove this program from your PC.

Many users initially mistake applications like Bingo Captcha Point, Wave browser, Poshukach.com for some sort of nasty viruses. However, such pieces of software are nothing more than annoying ad-generating and page-redirecting tools. They help online advertisers promote their products, services, and websites on the screens of web users during their web browsing and aren’t really capable of inflicting any harm upon your system. Most browser hijackers are mainly used to generate pay-per-click profits through sponsored redirects and aggressive generation to promoted pages. That being said, these applications could really get on one’s nerves by constantly interrupting their normal web surfing experience and imposing unwanted changes to their browser.

What’s more, sometimes hijackers may display shady or misleading content, which may easily expose users to real security hazards, including Trojans, different viruses and even nasty ransomware infections. That’s why it is generally advisable not to click on everything that an application like Bingo Captcha Point may display on your screen. In fact, in order to eliminate the ads and to reduce the risk of bumping into something malicious when you least expect it, it is best to use the instructions in the removal guide below (or the specialized professional removal tool in it) and, with their help, permanently uninstall the pesky software from your system.

Remove Bingo Captcha Point Virus

To remove Bingo Captcha Point, you must make sure to delete all rogue data and settings from your PC and not only the unwanted extension that the hijacker may have added to your browser.

  1. Start by trying to identify and uninstall any program that may have secretly snuck the hijacker into your PC.
  2. Next, search for suspicious processes in the Task Manager and stop ones that turn out to be unwanted/rogue.
  3. Thirdly, you should look for and revoke any unauthorized changes in the Hosts file, the settings of your preferred network, the Startup items list, and the Registry.
  4. Lastly, you must remove Bingo Captcha Point from your browsers and clear their data.

These steps are explained in more detail in the next lines – we recommend reading everything before you attempt to complete the removal process.

Detailed Bingo Captcha Point Removal Guide

In order to be sure that Bingo Captcha Point doesn’t try to contact its server and receive new instructions from there, we strongly recommend disconnecting from the Internet the PC you are trying to clean and use your smartphone or another device for live access to this page.

Step 1

Go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program (Programs and Features). If you don’t initially see the Control Panel, search for it using the search bar below the Start Menu. When you get to the Uninstall a Program list, see what are the most recent installs, search them for any rogue-looking program that may be related to Bingo Captcha Point, right-click it, and click Uninstall. Then complete the uninstallation steps that appear on your screen, and make sure that you opt out of any uninstallation options that may allow data or settings for that program to stay on the computer.

Step 2

WARNING! READ CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING!

Click the Start Menu again, type Task Manager, open the app that shows up, and look at the items listed in its Processes tab. If you see Bingo Captcha Point or anything with a similar name there, right-click it and click Open File Location. Next, right-click the process again, click End Process, and then delete the location folder that you just opened.

Also, look for other sketchy processes – ones with suspicious names and excessive use of RAM memory and CPU. End any such processes that are likely to be related to Bingo Captcha Point and also delete their location folders. To learn if a certain process is harmful, do the following:

  • Google the process you suspect of being malicious – if you find information posted on reputable cyber-security sites that warns its readers about the process in question, this probably means you should eliminate that process and its data.
  • Enter the location folder of the process and perform a scan for malware on each of the files stored in it. We recommend using our free malware scanner that you can see right below. If there are malicious files in the location folder, this means that the process linked to them is also a threat and must be ended, after which you should delete not only the files that got flagged as malware but their entire folder with everything that’s in it.
Each file will be scanned with up to 64 antivirus programs to ensure maximum accuracy
This scanner is free and will always remain free for our website's users.
This file is not matched with any known malware in the database. You can either do a full real-time scan of the file or skip it to upload a new file. Doing a full scan with 64 antivirus programs can take up to 3-4 minutes per file.

    Step 3

It’s necessary to enter Safe Mode before you continue, as this would stop any attempts made by Bingo Captcha Point to restart its malware processes.

    Step 4

Search for each of the next four items in the Start Menu search bar, open those items, and perform the instructions we’ve provided for them.

      • Ncpa.cpl – Right-click the icon that represents the network you normally use, open its Properties, and then double-click on the item labelled Internet Protocol Version 4 to open it. Check the both the Obtain an IP address automatically and the Obtain DNS server address automatically options and then open Advanced. There, click the DNS tab the top, see if anything is listed in the DNS server address box, and if there is, remove it, and click the OK button on every open window.

      • msconfig – Click the Startup section in the System Configuration window, then uncheck anything unfamiliar, suspicious, or with unknown manufacturer, and select the OK button.

      • notepad %windir%/system32/Drivers/etc/hosts – Copy any IP addresses that may be written at the end (below “Localhost“) of the text file that opens, paste them in the comments below, and wait for a reply for us. If those IPs are rogue, we will let you know that they must be removed from the file.

      • regedit.exe – Click Yes if an Admin permission is required before you could open this app. When the Registry Editor app shows up, press together Ctrl + F and then use the search bar that appears to search for Bingo Captcha Point. Delete what item gets found first, repeat the search, delete the next item, and proceed in this way until results for Bingo Captcha Point stop appearing.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is regedit2-1.png
Next, find the following folders in the pane of the Registry Editor.
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Random Directory
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run
        HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main0932ue0923jd3090t9u320d3290i

    Step 5

Go to the main browser’s icon, right-click it, open Properties, and then Shortcut. There, click in the Target text field, and if there is anything written in it after “.exe”, you should delete it and then select OK.

After this, you must open that same browser, select its menu, and go to the Extensions (or Add-ons) section. The main menus of most browsers are in the top-right corner. The menu of Opera is in the top-left. If you are using Chrome, after you click its menu, you must go to More Tools and there you will see the Extensions option. In the Extensions/Add-ons section, look for anything that seems related to Bingo Captcha Point or anything that’s unknown or looks suspicious. If you find such items, be sure to first disable them and then delete them – disabling it first is often necessary to be able to successfully uninstall a rogue extension.

Next, access Settings (or Options) from the browser menu, and find and select the Privacy/Privacy and Security settings page.

Next, find a Clear browsing data or Clear data option and click it. In the Microsoft Edge browser, that option would be labelled Choose what to clear.

If there’s an Advanced tab in the window that opens next, select it and then make sure to put ticks in each box, leaving only the one for your Passwords unchecked, after which click the Clear/Clear data button to perform this action.

Once you are done cleaning your main browser, you must also complete the same thing for every other browser that may be in your system.

If you are still having problems with Bingo Captcha Point

Finally, if it still seems that Bingo Captcha Point is present on the computer in spite of your efforts to delete it manually, our suggestion is to try with a specialized removal software that can find and eliminate anything related to this hijacker that you may have missed.

Note that many hijackers tend to embed themselves deeply inside the system, making their manual removal way too difficult even for a specialist. Also, another unpleasant possibility is that of a Trojan or a Rootkit present in the system that’s helping Bingo Captcha Point stay active. In such instances, removing the hijacker via the manual method may not be possible (unless you re-install Windows). However, if you use a professional anti-malware tool, such as the one linked in the guide, you will be able to simultaneously delete both the hijacker and any other form of malware that may be hiding in your system.
